We
often use Persona in daily life....because there are so many reasons
that makes us want to be looks good...because of our norm and
culture...OR...because we don't want to hurt someone...
What do you think about Persona ?
The real meaning is mask. But...let's learn about persona from Psychology's perspective.
According to Wikipedia...A persona, in the word's everyday usage, is a social role or a character played by an actor. The word is derived from Latin, where it originally referred to a theatrical mask.
Baby
always crying when they want to get something. Some students pretended
that they are sick when they have to follow the sport lesson. We always
try to say "Yes"...even though we don't want to do it because we don't
want to hurt someone. We try to always smile to our boss when they give
some instructions that we don't like. And a lot of other examples about
Persona out there. Persona is a human being attitude that begins from we
was a baby. It's a natural habits.
According to Jungian analyst Dr. Boris Matthews...“The persona is a functional complex… that operates as an attitude, or way of relating to, the "outer" world. It serves both as "interface" with the world and protection from the '"outer" world, depending on life experience including how one has been accepted, wounded or rejected when one has naively presented an authentic thought, feeling, or reaction.(http://suite101.com)
Persona
helps us to understanding another and keeps our life running smoothly.
But...please remember that actually be your self without Persona is
always needed. Because due to excessive persona sometimes makes us under
pressure... stress or depression.
Telling
the truth is always important. Being honest is good. We can try it with
assertive attitude. If we don't want to hurt someone....we can say
"No" with smiling and explaining with a good sentences. If we want to
get something....we can do the best to get good reward. We can give
examples to our children how to telling the truth. Give advice that they
can tell what they want on the right time and remind them that "please
don't pretend to get something".
Let's try it...^_^
